The Many Wonders of the Amazon Rainforest Yet To Be Discovered

The Amazon Rainforest does a great job of saving the world by sucking in a great percentage of the carbon dioxide produced by humans as a byproduct of respiration.  A rise in human population translates to a rise in the amount of carbon dioxide generated by humans during respiration; this further makes the Amazon rainforest and other rainforests cross the globe to be very important and one of the most outstanding elements for supporting human existence on earth.

The summary of the narrative above is that human life may become extinct if the Amazon Rainforest gets destroyed. A destruction of the Amazon Rainforest will also negatively impact the flora and fauna that have made this natural habitat their homes.  This may yet be the case in about 40 years if the current rate of deforestation of the Amazon rainforest by humans continues unabated.

The Amazon Rainforest is home to many plants and animals. You can find up to 3000 varieties of fruits in the Amazon Rainforest; these fruits are native the rainforest and some of them are lemons, oranges, mangos, pineapples, bananas, grapefruits and even figs.

Up to 200 fruits are currently being cultivated for consumption today, but the huge number of fruits growing in the Amazon rainforest indicates that there may be hundreds of edible fruits that are not discovered by humans yet. Though, many of the thousands of fruits found in the Amazon Rainforest are foods for the animals and insects living here.  You can visit for detailed information about Norman Asch.
